At the core of any police department is the Patrol Division. The Picayune Police Department's Uniform Patrol Division is the largest division of the Picayune Police Department. The officers are tasked in enforcing criminal laws, traffic laws, city ordinances and maintain public peace and safety. The Patrol Division operates four 12 hour shifts.  As the city grows the Patrol Division responds by joining the community in designing innovative ways of solving problems while maintaining the goal of eliminating criminal activity and delivering timely courteous service.

The Picayune Police Department Patrol Division is now under the direction of Field Operation Division Commander Capt. Bryan Dawsey. Capt. Dawsey is 22 year veteran of the Police Department and has served the Dept. in many aspects of Law Enforcement during his career. Capt. Dawsey is also the Commander of the Traffic, Street Crimes, School Resource Officer, and Juvenile Division.

Capt. Dawsey looks forward to working with the Officer of the Field Operation Division and looks forward to serving the Pubic in his new capacity with the Department.
