Crime Stoppers Case

On June 24, 2007 at approx. 9:12 pm the Pearl River County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to the 100 block of North Hill Dr. in Carriere in reference to a Strong Armed Robbery. Victim stated she was outside at her residence in the driveway when an unknown white male approached her, grabbed her purse, and pushed her into her flower garden that is next to the driveway. The only description of the suspect is a white male. The suspect went through her purse took an undisclosed amount of money and then threw the purse down and left the scene.

Crime Stoppers Case 

The Poplarville Police Dept. is investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred on Sept.7, 2007 in the early morning hours. Officers responded to Burger King at 105 Hwy. 26 W. Employees stated that a black male forced his way into the back door of the Burger King and produced a black gun and demanded money from the manager. The suspect got an unknown amount of money and escaped through the back door. No other information at this time. 

Crime Stoppers Case

Between the dates of April 28th (Saturday) 9:00 p.m. and April 30th (Monday) 9:00 a.m. the Corner Discount Tobacco Store, located at the corner of Hwy. 53 and Hwy 26 in Poplarville was broken into by unknown suspect(s). Cigarettes were the only items taken in the burglary.

Crime Stoppers Case 

On Tuesday,01-30-07 at approx. 4:00 p.m., a burglary was reported at the Old Palestine Church located at 3228 Jackson Landing Road (in Nicholson). During the burglary a "Peavey amplifier" (black in color) was stolen from the pulpit of the church. The suspect(s) made forced entry into the church by breaking the glass pane window from the exterior of the building.

Crime Stoppers Case 

On June 30, 1998 at 11:50 a.m., Ms Leola Jordan, 91 years of age, was found stabbed to death at her residence of 1204 Washington Street. Ms. Jordan was last seen at 10:00 p.m. on June 29, 1998 at her residence.

The suspect(s) entered and exited through the front door, which was known to be locked. There was no forced entry. The only things found to be out of place were handbags that had been taken out of a closet and rummaged through. Ms. Jordan was known to keep large amounts of money at her residence. A small undisclosed amount was found to be missing.

There are two possible suspects that we believe are responsible for the brutal murder of Ms. Jordan. 

Let's help put this family's mind at ease and bring Ms. Jordan's murder(s) to Justice. 

Crime Stoppers Case 

On September 27, 2006 a white male described as mid to late 30's, medium build, medium height, shoulder length hair thinning a little on the forehead and a heavy set white female with long hair carrying an infant child in a car seat, entered the Country Store in Carriere. 

The female distracted the clerk in the rear of the store while the male stayed near the front door with the baby. The male left the baby on the floor and stole a donation jar for Save a Life Charity which was on the counter. The male took the jar to a tan van unknown model and came back into the store. Both subjects left in the van. The amount taken is unknown.

Callers are never asked to identify themselves and there is no equipment in the office that records voices or traces telephone numbers. Anonymity is guaranteed. Those who call Crime Stoppers receive a code number that allows them to claim a reward once an arrest has been made. The police are also required to investigate the various Crime Stoppers tips and report back to the coordinator when a case is solved.
